Enabling Skyscanner’s new graduates to start strong with clarity and confidence

Overview

A digital-first, peer-shaped onboarding journey that helped Skyscanner’s graduate hires step into their roles with clarity, confidence, and cultural connection.

Challenge

Like many fast-moving organisations, Skyscanner wanted new hires to feel ready to contribute quickly. Traditional onboarding risked feeling abstract or generic, leaving grads uncertain about unspoken norms, hybrid collaboration, and how to add value in ambiguous situations.

Solution

Together, we co-created the Thriving at Skyscanner module:

  • Peer-led stories capturing recent grads’ real advice on culture, workflows, and relationships.

  • Interactive simulations that let learners rehearse moments they’d actually face — from balancing confidence with curiosity, to building authentic hybrid connections, to navigating ambiguity.

  • Practical reflection prompts designed to turn stories into action, reinforcing cultural values in lived contexts.

Outcome
  • 100% of graduates reported greater confidence to contribute and connect from Day 1.

  • 4.7/5 learner rating.

  • Participants called out the honesty, peer voices, and realistic scenarios as “the most valuable” elements.

"What stood out was how collaborative and efficient the process was. In a short space of time, Henry and the team helped us capture the real challenges our graduates face and turn them into something both practical and engaging. The module not only landed brilliantly with our grads, it also gave us fresh insight into the hidden expectations and cultural nuances shaping their early experiences at Skyscanner. It’s rare to find something so quick to build, so easy to deliver, and so insightful."

Head of Emerging Talent, Skyscanner
"Training has never felt this honest. Or this close to what we actually need. The stories felt like they came from people just a step ahead of me, so it was easy to imagine myself doing the same. It made me feel confident and connected before I’d even started."
